Don't call it 'Japanese Vodka'
An artisanal spirit unique to Japan, honkaku (authentic) shochu melds the flavors of koji and its diverse base ingredients through single distillation. Whether straight, rokku (on the rocks), sodawari (with soda), mizuwari (with cold water), oyuwari (with hot water), or in a cocktail, honkaku shochu is a flavorful, lower-proof spirit that can be enjoyed with meals or on its own.
