Though he might prefer to describe it as “well-rounded acumen drawn from wide-ranging interests and a varied and fairly atypical work history,” others have more bluntly labeled Mike’s insights as “thinking about weird stuff other people don’t.”
After spending more than a decade as an attorney in firms of all sizes working on cases ranging from bedbugs to murders to the world’s biggest antitrust suit, Mike realized he was less enamored with the practice of law than he was in building better law practices. What began as side gig helping small firms improve their marketing evolved into getting his MBA and a fuller role as a business consultant, coach, and strategist for lawyers and other entrepreneurs. He founded Mbiggen Consulting in 2019.
In a perfect world, Mike would spend more time kayaking, playing softball, or getting his two kids to listen to him even half as much as many professionals and business owners do. Until that day comes, he’ll settle for traveling when he can, improving his mediocre gardening skills, and being the undisputed Connect 4 champ of his home in Elk Grove, CA.
